Anti - Bullying
Anti-Bullying Week
At Highfield CE Primary School we used this week as an opportunity to help our school shine a spotlight on bullying and encourage all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year.
The theme this year was 'Choose Respect’.
As part of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week campaign, we urged everyone to think about how we could ‘Choose Respect’ instead of bullying, and how we could role model this behaviour. We acknowledged that the term ‘respect’ can mean different things to different people. When we talked about respect, we focused on showing that we value someone, including valuing their feelings, views, and opinions, even if they differ from our own. We also emphasised accepting and understanding others, giving them the same consideration we would expect for ourselves.
With this in mind, we encouraged staff and pupils to lead by example, and to be clear that even if we do not agree with or get along with someone, it doesn’t mean we should treat them any less with respect.
Anti-Bullying Week 2025: Power for Good
Every year, bullying impacts the lives of countless young people and silence helps it grow. That's why, this Anti-Bullying Week, we're empowering young people to use their Power for Good to safely speak up and raise awareness when they see bullying, face to face or online. Lasting change needs all of us.
