The year 6s have moved onto their fractions unit and showed fantastic knowledge of representation and structure to show their understanding.
At Highfield, we follow the mastery principles of teaching. One of the key areas is representation and structure, where children need to show their understanding through a visual tool. In year 6, the children worked through two mastery and greater depth challenges where it highlighted the importance of bar modelling to explain their thinking and understanding.
