Celebrating David Attenborough's 100th Birthday

The children spent the week learning all about David Attenborough.

We  spoke about our School value of 'Respect' and how David Attenborough has shown this to the environment and animals.  The children thought of lots of good ways we can care for our planet.

We read stories about David's life and even watched some of his early clips with animals – the children were very interested in the fact it was black and white!

We had lots of different activities; bird watching, animal books, growing seeds, seed diaries, meeting animals, small world play, as well as making binoculars.

We also had 2 of our butterflies hatch and as one of our lovely children said "this is the perfect day for them to hatch because it's David Attenborough's birthday, and he loves animals!".
