Diwali

The children learnt about Diwali being the celebration of light.  Each child made, and decorated, their own Diwa Lamp.  These looked absolutely beautiful and the children were so careful when making them!

We read the Hindu story of Rama and Sita and the children enjoyed making puppets to re-enact it.   
We used lots of different materials to make beautiful rangeli patterns, and we also learnt some bhangra dancing! 

The children also loved hearing about Mrs Singh's celebrations and seeing pictures of her family celebrating at the temple.
