Home-learning Applications

Showbie

We use a platform called Showbie as a home learning tool and to give children access to electronic resources in class. Watch this video to find out more:

Showbie: A teacher's guide

https://www.showbie.com/features/

All children have a log on and this is stapled into their reading diaries. These will be used for spellings, sharing work to parents. Please let your child's teacher know if you are unable to log in.

"Showbie keeps you and your children on the same page, whether you’re using your iPad, iPhone, or pretty much any computer or device with an internet connection."

Times Tables Rock Stars!

Time Tables Rock Stars ยป Elmwood Junior School

In either paper form or online, Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.

Each child has a log on and can use this at home and in school. We recommend that children take a 'little and often' approach to practising their tables. This should continue as part of regular home learning right up to the end of Year 6.

Teachers can set particular tables for their children to practise, or, if they feel that a child is confident enough with all their tables, can give children access to activities involving all tables. There are a number of different modes within Times Tables Rock Stars, allowing children to challenge themselves and other children. For Year 4 children getting ready to take their Multiplication Tables Check at the end of the year, the Sound Check mode within Times Table Rock Stars is particularly useful.
