Portswood Library Trip

We really value reading here at Highfield, and are committed to promoting it to all of our pupils in a variety of different ways. With that in mind, this past Tuesday afternoon, Mr Dodson, Mrs White and Mr Phillips took a small group of children on a trip to Portswood to visit the library. They were greeted by one of their enthusiastic librarians, who spoke to them about the system for borrowing books and asked them questions about what they like to read best. Children even got the chance to get their hands on some brand-new books, which had only arrived at the library that morning! We spent some time quietly reading in the library before heading back to school with some newly borrowed books. All in all, it was a really lovely afternoon!
